Senior Attorney Evan H. Baron has been practicing law for over 35 years. Upon graduating Cum Laude from Nova University Center for the Study of Law, he was hired by the Broward County Public Defenders Office. After two years as an Assistant Public Defender he was promoted to Chief Assistant and was responsible for supervising attorneys and Certified Legal Interns from various Florida Law Schools. During his 5 years at the office, he tried hundreds of criminal jury trials, including some of the most publicized cases in the county. Two of the first degree murder cases he tried were broadcast live on Court TV.
Upon leaving the Public Defenders Office he went into private practice, where he took his litigation skills into the family court arena. He has handled hundreds of family law cases, ranging from litigation for high end net worth clients to uncontested divorces. Relying on his training in criminal law he has also handled many domestic violence cases, both in criminal and domestic violence courtrooms.
Although he continues to litigate those cases in which litigation is necessary, he has also realized the benefit of the collaborative process and as such he has successfully completed his Collaborative training. This allows parties to work together as a team to finalize the divorce process, without the necessity of litigation.
Mr. Baron has taught at the University level, both in the field of criminal and family law. He has been awarded an AV rating, the highest ranking with Martindale Hubbell. In addition, he has been recognized by Super Lawyers and Legal Elite for his work as a Family Lawyer. He is a member of the Florida Legal Network, whose members must attain the highest level of expertise in their chosen field. He was the creator of and the first President of the Weston Bar Association. He has written numerous articles on family law that have been published in various periodicals.
Mr. Baron has been successful for so many years due to his commitment to his clients. He understands the trauma related to family law cases and works towards a resolution that is best for the client, on both a financial and emotional level.
